Metamora High School Stadium

Client’s Initiative and Initial Challenges: Metamora Township High School (MTHS), a recurring client of MCP, initially explored options for turf installation by engaging with multiple turf companies. The proposals received varied significantly in terms of costs, scope of work, types of turf, alternate options, and exclusions, presenting a complex decision-making challenge.

MCP’s Role and JOC Program Utilization: In March, MTHS sought MCP’s expertise and requested the company to act as the Construction Manager (CM) for the turf project. Utilizing the Job Order Contracting (JOC) program through the Equalis Group, MCP competitively bid the project, aiming to streamline the decision-making process and optimize project outcomes.

Competitive Bidding and Contractor Selection: The project underwent a competitive bidding process, and Mammoth Construction emerged as the low bidder. Mammoth’s comprehensive bid included all aspects of the project, from site demolition to excavation, gravel base preparation, drainage, and the installation of artificial turf.

Tailored Construction Management Services: As the CM, MCP adapted its construction management services to align with the specific needs of MTHS for the turf project. This approach ensured that MCP could effectively address the unique requirements of the project and provide tailored support throughout its execution.

Expedited Procurement and Timely Completion: Despite the design and bidding phases occurring in March and April, MCP expedited the procurement of artificial turf through Fieldturf. This strategic approach aimed at guaranteeing the timely completion of the project by early August, aligning with MTHS’s scheduling priorities.

On-Time and On-Budget Project Delivery: MCP’s efforts culminated in the successful completion of the MTHS Turf project. Not only was the project finished on time, meeting the August deadline, but it was also completed within the established budget. This achievement underscores MCP’s commitment to delivering efficient and cost-effective solutions for its clients.

The MTHS Turf project stands as a testament to the collaborative and adaptable approach MCP employs in meeting the unique needs of its clients, ensuring successful project outcomes in both timing and budgetary considerations.
